have you got newest version of the game without any mods? try other docking port then, sometimes docking ports may bugged and decouple node can be on the other port if it successfuly decoupled and it flips once and stuck then try put thermometers more wider to make more space between rcs and thermometer (it's some kind of bearing)

@@GraBek77 I got depressed by my failure trying to get it to work. It also occurred to me that even if I figure it out I will still have to have this obnoxious contraption on both ends of my ship. I'll just fly into space with massive struts poking out lol. Hinges should have been added to the base game.

Was it powered with warp speed? Bc warp speed its supossed to be faster than lightspeed and i think the ship was moving in 50% the speed of light
